Who made it onto the Vanity Fair best dressed list?

Judges with an eye for style gathered together to complete the 68th annual international best dressed list.

The most popular of starlets graced the pages of Vanity Fair, among them are David and Victoria, Demi and Ashton and of course Brad and Angelina. Posh and Becks, a new addition to Hollywood, have embraced their love of fashion in every aspect including their reality show where posh seems to be forever posing around the house, and a recent avant-garde spread in W magazine. Posh had even gone so far as to insult “casual” in a recent interview with the LA Times. “They dress down quite a lot here, don’t they? It seems to be in keeping to go to Starbucks in tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots. I have one pair, for non-photographic opportunities only.” Her mediocre reality show and husband’s poor football performance did not seem to affect the judges’ decision in the least. It’s no surprise that the most loved couple, Brad and Angelina, were amongst the list of the fashion forward. Angelina’s return as the face of the new Fall St John ad campaign had stood her in good light along with Husband Brad Pitt and his contribution to Oceans 13. Another cast member, George Clooney, has returned to the list after his appearance in 2006 along with the ever popular 360 host Anderson Cooper, film maker Sofia Coppola and Actress Renee Zelweger.

Kate Moss, with her ever growing tabloid popularity did not make the cut this year, nor did Oprah Winfrey, Gwen Stefani and secretary of state Condoleezza Rice. Prince William was also left outside in the cold along with other hopefuls.

A fair amount of those belonging to the Vanity Fair family have made an appearance on the list. Michael Roberts, fashion and style director, Lisa Eisner, the contributing editor as well as Mitch Glazer, Hollywood producer and close friend of Vanity editor Graydon Carter were all featured.

So who else made the cut? Team Vogue stood strong, amongst those mentioned were Teen Vogue editor in chief Amy Astley, Vogue style director Alexandra Kotur, Marina Rust Connor, Vogue contributing editor, and Bee Shaffer, the daughter of Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour [who was not featured]. Carine Roitfeld and daughter Julia were not present on the list; perhaps a sigh of relief to Anna and daughter after their alleged rivalry.

The formula for being featured as best dressed seems to be a combination of popularity, fame and networking. Next years list is anyone’s guess!
